"Takes A Lot To Make Me Thank The Fucking Cardinals ... [But Now] We Can Once Again Root Against Them"

Every so often, things actually work out the way they are supposed to!

Chris Thompson, Deadspin:
Braves Fans Perform First-Inning Tomahawk Chop, Watch Their Team Immediately Melt Down Like Chernobyl

The Atlanta Braves selectively and cynically scrubbed the "tomahawk chop" celebration ahead of Wednesday's Game 5 against the St. Louis Cardinals. This did not go far enough, as was evidenced by defiant Braves fans loudly performing the chop almost immediately after the start of the game. ...

[D]etermined to own the libs and not caring at all who they offended along the way, [the proud racists in the stands] let loose with a loud "tomahawk chop" after the game's second pitch:

What followed was deeply satisfying for anyone who finds it impossible to support a team whose fans are this committed to a chant that was just described as disrespectful and hurtful by a member of the group it's meant to reference ... [B]efore the inning was over, the game was over. ...

It's truly a shame this humiliating 13–1 season-ending bludgeoning had to come at the hands of the dreaded St. Louis Cardinals, but it is otherwise not a shame at all.

It speaks volumes about these people that ... the fact that they can't be quite as publicly racist is apparently the worst thing that ever happened to them. Takes a lot to make me thank the fucking Cardinals, yet here we are.

It takes an amazing act of assholery to make the Cardinals look like the team I want to root for. The Braves managed to get there. Well done.

This Guy Fawkes
A lot of people don't realize this, but if you throw out that first inning they only lost 3-1. That's pretty close. It's true.

Cardinals Manager Mike Fucking Shildt Gets All Fucking Riled Up After Beating The Fucking Braves

After the Cardinals tore the Braves a new asshole in Wednesday's series-clinching 13–1 Game 5 win, Cards manager Mike Shildt ripped them yet another poop valve in his triumphant, fuck-laden postgame talk in front of his team:
With Wednesday's victory, the Cardinals' strange and brief tenure as the lesser of two evils in a series has thankfully come to a close, and we can once again root against them.
Shildt: "The [Braves] started some shit. We finished the shit. And that's how we roll. No one fucks with us ever. Now, I don't give a fuck who we play. We're gonna fuck them up. We're gonna take it right to them the whole fucking way. We're gonna kick their fucking ass."

NLCS Game 1: Friday night, in Washington.
