Papi goes deep in the ninth to bring the Sox within striking distance (4-1 to 4-3 (he also drove in the first run on a grounder back in the first)) and after Tejada falls down on Pena's grounder to bring the go-ahead run to the plate, pinch-runner Willie Harris is thrown out trying to steal on a 1-0 pitch to Nixon, ending the game. Dave Roberts, he ain't. The umpire at second was out of position -- it is amazing how often that it is the case at second, third, and home -- but it did look like Tejada grabbed the throw on the hop and got the tag in.
The Yankees held on and beat Texas 4-3, so both Boston and New York are 23-15.

Home!
And a return to individual posts for each game. ... I'd love to get NESN tonight -- for my first full game since April 20 -- but I'll try not to bitch if it's Comcast.
Wakefield / Bedard at 7 PM.

Good trip, then?
I was in Belize on my honeymoon for the 04 series. Missed game one, but wouldn't have traded it.
excellent trip. covered a ton of ground and saw many amazing regions and sites.
only missed the sox (and our dog), especially the last mfy series.
they're saying harris misread a sign or something from demarlo hale (i effing love that name). that was so annoying cause trot would have got a hit. i know this ;)
oh well. tied agin atop the al east.
Welcome home! Just in time for the next MFY series. But not before dreaded interleague play weekend.
Much as I hate to admit it, Harris was out but not by much. Tejada applied the tag to his lower leg a split second before his foot hit the bag. NESN had a great camera angle from the third base side that clearly showed it.
Try MLB.TV.
But then you have to watch games on your computer. I'd rather spend the money and be a little more comfortable.
