Terry Francona allowed Dice to start the third, but after a single and a walk, Tito went to the pen; his walk to the mound drew perhaps the loudest cheers of the night. The Rays later smacked Tim Wakefield and former Rays reliever Dan Wheeler around.
It's not worth rehashing any of what happened in this game -- I don't want to write it and you don't want to read it -- but I will point out that Boston's first two hits were triples from Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz.
Hellickson, who turned 24 three days ago, is the rookie right-hander that the Rays (1-8) hope will take Matt Garza's place in the rotation. Baseball Prospectus 2011 ranked Hellickson as the #9 prospect:

It's interesting that I was going to talk about the moderation tonight. Thinking that it would be nice if you could let the posts through, and we all would just ignore them. That that might be more frustrating to the poster since he really just wants to cause trouble. I was thinking that it was really just one guy you were dealing with, but I guess not.
There's something scary but pathetic too about a troll like ala/hl/nightmare--they want an ear, an audience, someone to acknowledge them, but can't hang around for long without stepping well over the line and then feeling aggrieved forever....

It's true that theoretically we could all ignore the trolls, but *everyone* would have to do that all the time, and that wouldn't happen.
Plus we'd all have to see their vile comments. Many of the comments are really mean, nasty, hateful. It would end up ruining the experience for a lot of people. Including me and Allan! :)

Had an interesting moment. I come in in the bottom of the 7th, no idea how the game has gone. I turn on the TV and see Papi's face and decide to try to discern what the score is like. I notice he's leading off first, the score widget's not on the screen, and I get a good three-four seconds to decide. I decide we're either way behind or way ahead. Then the score appears.
Alright, if we score 47 runs here, the game is tied, right?
About moderation: it's not easy. It takes a bit of attention to click over and accept comments (I've done it on alt threads.) And our regular troll absolutely "camps" the thread sometimes (if you know that stupid term from online gaming). Meaning he tries to post, and if you take off moderation for even a few minutes, he gets through! I mean, think of the time and effort that involves.
