Boston (18-7) starts a six-game road trip to Toronto and Texas. ... Lester pitched seven shutout innings against the Jays on April 7. ... The Red Sox have won 13 of their last 16 games.

Dustin Pedroia is 8th in the AL in batting average (.330) and 6th in OBP (.438); 25 of his 31 hits have been singles. ... David Ortiz (.516/.529/871) and Mike Carp (.455/.500/.864) continue to murderize the ball. Read a quick Q&A with Carp here.

The disappointing Jays are 9-17, a whopping 9.5 GB the Red Sox. It may still be April, but Dave Cameron (Fangraphs) says the Blue Jays are in trouble.

After losing four straight to the Red Sox, the Astros went out last night and battered the Yankees 9-1!

Also last night, Angels had a 7-2 lead over A's with six outs to go.

A's tied up game with four runs in eighth and one run in ninth, then both teams scored again in the 14th inning.

A's finally won in 19th on two-out, two-run home run from Brandon Moss (2nd HR of game) with Jed Lowrie on first. It is the longest game in team history.

A's have won 12 straight against AL West opponents.

Longest Oakland game, I guess. I believe the old Philadelphia A's and the Red Sox played a 24-inning game in 1904 or something.

...

It was 1906.
