G36: Atlanta 10, Red Sox 3

Atlanta - 200 002 150 - 10 14 0
Red Sox - 002 000 010 - 3 8 0
Marcell Ozuna hit three home runs and drove in six runs as Atlanta beat the Red Sox for the second straight night.

Ozuna homered in the first off Ryan Weber (4-4-2-0-2, 51) and hit the other two in the late innings off Kyle Hart (2-7-6-0-1, 44).

The Red Sox did hold Atlanta reasonably close for most of the game, if that means anything. (Narrator: It doesn't.) Boston tied the game at 2-2 in the third when Alex Verdugo (2-for-5) knocked in Tzu-Wei Lin and, after a wild pitch, Rafael Devers singled home Verdugo.

After that, a two-out double in the fourth from Yairo Muñoz was wasted, as were runners at first and second in the fifth.

The game was out of reach when Xander Bogaerts doubled in the eighth and scored on Jackie Bradley's two-out single.

Elsewhere: The Giants pounded out 27 hits and crushed the Rockies 23-5.

Rockies - 001 010 021 - 5 6 1
The Giants had a leadoff double in the ninth, but could not get him in. Strikeout, 3U (runner to third), 1-3. Maybe everyone was just too tired at that point.

The Cardinals beat the Reds 16-2, collecting 23 hits and scoring in seven of nine innings: 621 022 120.

Tonight's DH, Yairo Muñoz, is 25 years old and has played at six positions for the Cardinals in the last two seasons (2B-3B-SS-LF-CF-RF).

Ian Anderson is making his second major league appearance. Last Wednesday, he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning against the Yankees (6-1-1-2-6, 90).

After five relief appearances, Ryan Weber is starting for the first time since August 7.

Darwinzon Hernandez was placed on the IL with a sprained left SC joint (linking the clavicle to the sternum). Manager Ron Roenicke:
There's some inflammation there. They've checked him out, and ... the decision was to IL him and give himself a little more chance to rest before we get him going again. ... He's felt this but he hasn't really told anyone it's an issue, so when he's pitching, he doesn't feel it. He feels it maybe a little bit the next day ... The other day, as you know, we didn't have him go back out there and things just didn't look like [right], and this is what they have found.
After this move and yesterday's trades, the Red Sox added Muñoz and two pitchers, left-hander Mike Kickham and right-hander Robinson Leyer, to the active roster.

Leadoff double with nobody out and one run needed to pull off the "All-an," and they FAILED???? Come on.
