Angels - 000 000 000 - 0 4 0Beckett: 9 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 8 K, 108 pitches
Red Sox - 103 000 00x - 4 9 0
Youkilis's solo home run into the Monster Seats in the first got the Red Sox on the board. Yook also doubled into the left field corner with one out in the third, right before Ortiz belted a dong down the right field line. It was his 9th post-season home run. Then Manny walked, took second on a wild pitch, and scored on Lowell's single to center. (box)
Beckett was absolutely masterful (and dominant!). Figgins singled to start the game, then Beckett set down the next 19 batters in a row (with only three balls hit out of the infield). Only two Angels runners got to second base all night: Figgins in the first and Aybar in the eighth. Figgins was the only Angel to touch third.
Beckett went to a three-ball count only twice: Figgins in the first (single) and Izturis in the fifth (pop to short). He went to two balls on only six other batters.

While Tim Wakefield is not on the Red Sox roster, the Angels have left off outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. (left knee injury) and pitcher Bartolo Colon (right elbow pain). Vladimir Guerrero (right triceps tendinitis) will likely start the series as the DH (he has not played the outfield since September 4).
Also, Dan Lamothe of Red Sox Monster invited me to take part in a blogger roundtable of previewing the series (along with Ian Bethune of Sox & Dawgs, Mike Colucci of Red Sox Stats Guy and Cam Smith of SoxNest). Read it here.
Both NL series start today: Rockies at Phillies at 3 and Cubs at Diamondbacks at 10.

Wakefield:
It stinks. It really does, but it's not like it was in '99. They're not taking me out because they think I can't get hitters out. This was a decision we made as a team. Trust me, it was a hard decision to make when I was sitting in that office. It's hard to take yourself out of the equation sometimes ... but in a short series with the rules changing, I don't want to hurt us.ESPN's Jonah Keri has the "Thinking Fan's Approach" and "Nonthinking Fan's Approach" to the ALDS. Also, 9 of 10 ESPN writers pick the Red Sox, 7 of 10 pick Cleveland, 8 of 10 pick the Cubs, and 6 of 10 pick the Phillies.
The Herald's Michael Silverman says: Red Sox in 5. The Globe's writers' picks are here.
Rob Bradford writes about Manny Ramirez, "by all accounts one of the smartest, best-prepared hitters in the history of the game".
Later in the workout, which is done 30 minutes before every game, Page throws four rings at Ramirez. Each ring has a different colored ball attached to it, and Page calls out the color of the ball Manny has to grab out of mid-air.At the beginning of this season, I mentioned the ultra-fine point pens (0.25 mm line width) I keep score with. I was surpised to learn that there is exists an even-finer 0.20 mm pen. But I never saw it for sale at my store in Manhattan.
"It's comical how good he is at it," Page said. "Other guys try it, but they don't come close."
Most people also don't realize Ramirez is the only position player who routinely stretches and runs with the pitchers. And hardly anyone sees Manny in the weight room nine hours before the first pitch of night games, at home and on the road.
Well, guess what I found three weeks ago in Mississauga -- and am breaking out for the first time tonight? 0.20, baby!

The Angels were 10-for-11 in stolen base attempts against the Red Sox in 10 games this season.
Just be happy the Red Sox didn't draw Tim McClelland for the series. We'd either be in luck, or in trouble.

I only worry about that if the Sox are giving up walks to go with hits. If they can keep their WHIP at 1.30 and below they will be ok.
While I like your Sox in 4, this team does worry me in that they can be pesky. We need the starters to step up and go a min. of 6, preferably 7+ in their starts.
The big three offensive stats for each team's probable lineup. (Red Sox: F-Yeah, Youk, Flo, MBM, Dr., Drew, Tek, oCoC, Slügo) (Angels: Figgins, OC, Vlad, Anderson, Kotchman, Izturis, Kendrick, Napoli, Willits)
Red Sox: .287 BA, 142 HR (15.8 HR per batter), 723 RBI (80.3 RBI per batter)
Angels: .299 BA, 86 HR (9.6 HR per batter), 575 RBI (63.9 RBI per batter)

Do you realize how hard this would be to do? Wow.

I admire your willingness to be so public with your insanity. :)
Projo (McAdam) has turned Mike Napoli and Jeff Mathis into Jeff Napoli. I can only assume they/he are trying to help the Angels by combining their patient at the plate catcher with other offensive skills, with their young defensive whiz.
...this could be trouble for the Sox.
Just heard on WEEI about 30 minutes ago that MBM will be batting 4th, Lowell 5th and Drew 6th tonight. Tito, excuse me Terry, (maybe we should just make that tjt) said that the lineup will look like what they want to get out there. I assume that means Pedroia and Youk at 1-2 with Tek, !!!!ocoC, Lugo being the 7-9.
If he puts Lugo leading off I am sure you will be hearing my scream of outrage up in the Great north!
Are you sure it is wise to switch pens at this point?
If he puts Lugo leading off I am sure you will be hearing my scream of outrage up in the Great north!
I'll drown you out, for sure.
Do you realize how hard this would be to do? Wow.
Would love video of this. Bradford is a great writer, always getting stuff and angles no one else gets.
The logical question is why haven't the other writers been telling us these things about Manny for the last 7 years?
I admire your willingness to be so public with your insanity. :)
Micron Mojo!!!!!!
(I was pretty hyped up the day we bought the pen though, wasn't I?)
Are you sure it is wise to switch pens at this point?
I believe the .20 is the key to this entire post-season.
I go through 3-4 of these pens a season, so there isn't any lucky pen per se.
Re lucky stuff: I still refer to one pair of boxer shorts as my Lucky Papi Shorts, and they date back to 2003, so how lucky can they be, really?
that drill manny does is HARD. The circle with the balls on it is pretty big, but the balls are spinning so fast, i usually did worse than plain luck. but I guess that's why i'm not one of the best RHH ever :(
Also, I just read the rest of the article. If the "golf ball sized" drill is the one I'm thinking of, where you use the wiffle-style practice golf balls, that is also hard, but I had a lot more success than the ring drill. It makes you feel a lot more confident about your swing. When you first start, it's like your first whiffleball game- comical misses. You swear you were following it, but you weren't. By the end, you've noticeably improved.
The ring drill, on the other hand, I just never got.

I'm Seceding From "Red Sox Nation"
... because I'm a Red Sox fan, I'm thrown in this group of assholes known as "Red Sox Nation" and what comes with that association is a bunch of shit I never bought into or deserve for that matter. I'm a Sox fan and sometimes (most times) I'm a complete asshole about it. But I do it in my own unique way that has NOTHING TO DO with membership cards or worrying about meaningless division leads or buying "Ultimate Fan Packs" OR WATCHING A DEBATE ABOUT A FAKE PRESIDENT OF A FAKE ORGANIZATION THAT WAS CREATED TO EXPLOIT MY LOYALTY TO MY FUCKING TEAM! I don't want any of that and I never signed up for this shit. I admit to being an asshole about my fandom and am completely comfortable with people thinking I'm an asshole Red Sox fan. But I'm not a "Red Sox Nation Asshole Fan." I'm my own asshole.
Thanks to Andy at 12eight.
Goddamn it. I bought tickets to this concert a few weeks ago that I've been looking forward to. Which happens to be tonight. Looks like I will be avoiding the score at all costs, tape the game and watch it when I get back.
Looks like I will be avoiding the score at all costs, tape the game and watch it when I get back.
We have Springsteen tickets for what I think is ALCS 3. I'll be treating that like a very late West Coast game.
Manny v Lackey
10-for-23 - 4 dongs, 3 doubles, 7 walks
God v Lackey
10-for-26 - 2 dongs, 4 walks
what does wake mean about the 'rules changing'?
i think it's a valiant decision tho.
love the I'm Seceding From "Red Sox Nation" rant. yeah it's all really gotten pretty dumb and annoying.
Frank Thomas cleans up pretty well.
Wow, the whole gang is dropping in here hours before the game---cool! Are we all pumped up or what?? :) I unfortunately will miss the first 90 minutes of the game because I have to go observe someone teach tonight from 6:30 til 8. How tacky would it be to check the score on my cell phone now and then? There is wireless in the room, and maybe some less than fully conscientious student will be watching on their laptop. I would take mine but it would be SO obvious what I am doing, as I don't need to be "taking notes."
I would take mine but it would be SO obvious what I am doing, as I don't need to be "taking notes."
But if you are "taking notes" you'll be going over and above expectations ;-)
Are we all pumped up or what?? :) You could say that!!!
Actually, the guy on 12eight doesnt't sound like an asshole at all. Did he say where he was seceding to? Is there room for me?

(Where's the SOSH game thread, by the way. Strange they don't have one yet)
Oh, god.
They did. It was started by a lurker who put in the title that we were playing the Indians. He changed it and apologized, many people said ban him, others laughed and said carry on, I posted in it ... now I just looked and it's gone and it looks like the lurker has been banned.
There should be a new one up soon. It sounded like Schilling was supposed to start it in the first place.
Looks like Schilling appeared in the old one just before it got locked and disappeared. The mystery continues.
that place is one big mystery. nobody truly understands it. I think one of their admins is actually just AI.
40 pitch second inning for Cole Hamels against Colorado. Ouch!
And so far for the Phillies offense: K, K, K, K!
SoSH Game Thread started by Jose "Keys to the Game" Melendez.
G38: "I was going to stop by and start the game thread since we did it back in 2004, but once Jose posts his keys, in my mind, that game thread is on ..... Let's put together a nice streak, win, say, 11 games before anyone else and I'll throw alcohol all over those of you that attend the parade....."
***
It is on ... like Micron!
It's up now. Jose Melendez started it with Schilling's quote from the now-disbanded thread. Saw from the Game Notes (which I read religiously) posted there that the Standells will be playing Dirty Water prior to the game and Remy's throwing out the first ball. Wish I were there!
Schilling's post here.
So...what is our take on Phillies v Rockies? I just got home (have to go back at 6) from work and turned on the game. Rockies ahead 3-0 in the third. Both teams were on a tear at the end of the season. Can't say I care really, but given my east coast ties, I will go with the Phillies.
Looks like I will be avoiding the score at all costs, tape the game and watch it when I get back.
We have Springsteen tickets for what I think is ALCS 3. I'll be treating that like a very late West Coast game.
Yup, ALCS #3. You can tape that, but you can only be there at the Bruce show.
Actually, the guy on 12eight doesnt't sound like an asshole at all.
The 12eight guy wasn't the guy who wrote the rant. He just posted part of it.
Did he say where he was seceding to?
redsock nation?
Actually, the guy on 12eight doesnt't sound like an asshole at all. Did he say where he was seceding to? Is there room for me?
Maybe he's seceding here, with us.
I liked the rant, too.
You can tape that, but you can only be there at the Bruce show.
I'll bet I'll find a tape of the show, too. (Video could be tricky.)
It's not a clinching game, so I'll watch it at midnight or something.
Lineup:
Pedroia, 2B
Youkilis, 1B
Ortiz, DH
Ramirez, LF
Lowell, 3B
Drew, RF
Varitek, C
Crisp, CF
Lugo, SS
SP - Josh Beckett
the Standells will be playing Dirty Water prior to the game and Remy's throwing out the first ball. Wish I were there!
I hope Rogers will show us that!!
Did he say where he was seceding to?
redsock nation?
That's Joy Nation. You'd think the Prime Minister would know that.
You can tape that, but you can only be there at the Bruce show.
I'll bet I'll find a tape of the show, too. (Video could be tricky.)
Yeah, and that's just the same as being there. /eye rolling
Yeah, and that's just the same as being there. /eye rolling
We're not going to be at Fenway, either.
So...what is our take on Phillies v Rockies?
I personally have none. I used to live in Philadelphia and I still don't care.
I do hate the Diamondbacks (for the same reason many here once loved them), so I was glad they didn't get in.
I'll keep hoping for a 1918 rematch. And more Cubs heartbreak, of course.
Actually, I guess Game 3 will be at the Jake.
I like the Rockies; my brother lives there and actually renounced primary RS fanhood to root for the then-new team. Although he admits that he'd be torn about a RS/Rockies World Series.
Their ownership is a bunch of assholes, but it's hard not to like a team of young up and coming guys. And despite all the terrible things I have heard about Philly fans, one has to hand it to them for hanging in there. But I like the Rockies.
I am having trouble visualizing this Manny ball-on-a-ring exercise.
The Cubs are easily my #2 choice to win it all.
I don't have a 3rd choice.
D-Backs got in. Playin' the Cubs.
Back to back HRs for Phillies. Score is 3-2.
What do you mean the Diamondbacks didn't get in?
I like the idea of a Sox-Cubs WS. Old teams, old parks, old cities. Plus I like our odds against the Cubs.
So what is the story with Arizona? Why do some love and other not love the team? I know nothing about them, given how little I care about the NL.
RS
If you are looking for pens finer than 0.2 mmm, try Rotring. Technical pens, that work on drawing paper or on tracing paper.
If you print your score cards on good quality drawing paper. Then these pens would work.
Forgive my appearance. I am just a lurker. A daily one at that
Oh duh, Dbacks, of coursre. Sorry about that. Blame my early-early-onset Alzheimer's.
I like the idea of a Sox-Cubs WS. Old teams, old parks, old cities.
Yup. That's why I liked the White Sox over Houston in the WS. Besides the history-making White Sox win.
Re Arizona, they beat the Yankees in the 2001 WS, preventing NYY from winning 4 in a row. Red Sox fans were rather happy about that at the time. I'm sure you remember now, since your husband was probably quite unhappy.
OK, I get it, Laura. Your loyalties were elsewhere back in 2001. Yes, I certainly remember the 2001 WS. I remember being torn---as a Sox fan, I wanted the Yankees to lose. But I also felt like New Yorkers deserved something to lift their spirits after 9/11. Yeah, my husband was sad about that Series.
Is it just me, or is time standing still?
palpable.
Looks like it'll be fun here tonight. My dad's in town tonight and we're going out to dinner at...6:30. Then I've got the radio show @ 10pm. should be able to squeeze a bit of viewing in between the two, though I most likely won't be hovering round these parts. if I do I'll say hi.
Have a blast, folks!
Oh, and the ring game sounds really interesting, but I'm having a bit of trouble visualizing it. How big are the rings? how are they thrown how is the colored ball attached?
Anyone know where I can gander some more about this? thanks.
My 3 simple little keys that I hope are not too much to ask:
1. A leadoff double by the Sox is a squander-free zone.
2. Lugo does not botch an easy ground ball.
3. Gagne looks like he wants to throw the ball.
Now, just go out and play.
It's not just you West Coast. Time is definitely standing still!
OK, I get it, Laura. Your loyalties were elsewhere back in 2001.
Yup. It was my last good season as a Yankees fan. After 9/11, the experience at the Stadium became unbearable, and I started to lose my heart for the team.
I remember being torn---as a Sox fan, I wanted the Yankees to lose. But I also felt like New Yorkers deserved something to lift their spirits after 9/11.
Bah. Plenty of New Yorkers aren't Yankees fans, remember. (Allan, for example.) The playoffs were great, the WS was great, and that was lift enough. No reason for a Sox fan to be torn about that one, IMO.
Thanks, gk. I'll check it out.
Feel free to stay and comment.
Nick, I take it your dad is not a baseball fan, so you can't go to a sports bar. I am annoyed that I committed myself to go observe this class without checking the ALDS schedule two weeks ago.
Woti, three simple requests, let's see if the Sox can grant them.
I am sure you are right that not all NYers are Yankee fans (for example, Mets fans), but I was seeing things through the eyes of my husband and family, so I was torn. Also, as I recall, the media also kept making that point about NY needing a lift. I am sure that I would think differently with the perspective of time, but at that time, I did feel torn. I had grown up in the NY area and had worked in NYC at one point, so I guess those old loyalties came up. After 2003, that would NEVER happen again.
But I also felt like New Yorkers deserved something to lift their spirits after 9/11.
Oh yeah, that was that small window of time in which people outside of NYC suspended their hatred of NYC. Thakfully, it returned quickly.
I loved 2001! ... Luis Gonzalez, if you're out there, the first 5 rounds are on me!
the media also kept making that point about NY needing a lift
the media are idiots.
I'm still at work at the moment, so why do something constructive? My dad enjoys baseball, but is not hardcore. Growing up he took me to a number of games and does enjoy it, but has no team allegiance, etc. but we saw games where we were (milwaukee, chicago, boston, anaheim, spring training in arizona ).
He has a particular restaurant he wants to go to and they do not have a TV...they do have excellent organic wood-fire pizzas and wifi from the coffee shop next door, however.
I'm also enjoying this line-up and I look forward to LBJ's appearances.
You are welcome RS
Rotring.com, has all the details of products. You will have to find a seller.
Check the Rotring isograph pens.
Pricey stuff, but known to architects (who havent shifted to drawing only on computers) world over.
The score cards would look so good that they could become bestsellers ! and beat Remdawg and his crap !
the media are idiots.
No argument there. But I guess they did infiltrate my brain....I wasn't defending it, just pointing out why I might have felt torn.
Benjamin has more on Wake's back:
"Wakefield has now had two cortisone shots in his back this season, with the second one coming on Sunday morning, after his Saturday night start. Wakefield then did nothing on Monday, to let the shot do its work, before playing catch on Tuesday. That was where the problem cropped up.
... This is the same injury Wakefield dealt with during August, when he was scratched from a start that later allowed Clay Buchholz to throw his no-hitter. The pain is in the area between his back and his shoulder."
Some Tito quotes too.
I wasn't defending it, just pointing out why I might have felt torn.
I know, sorry if it came out otherwise.
The whole "MFY-need-to-win-it-to-make-NYC-feel-whole-again" made me want to vomit over and over again.
Organic wood fire pizzas! Sounds great! Enjoy. At least if you have to miss the game, it will be better than watching someone teach a class on Health Law.
OK, folks, see you around 8:15. Keep the Sox ahead, if you can.
After 9/11, the experience at the Stadium became unbearable, and I started to lose my heart for the team.
They say 9/11 changed everything!

Lackey - 5 1/3 IP, over 4 runs and a 1.29 WHIP.
Willits?

Rockies are almost ready to wrap things up in Philly. Two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
The score cards would look so good that they could become bestsellers ! and beat Remdawg and his crap !
Yeah GK! I suggested to Allan that he use his postseason scorecards as a contest prize.
Final: Colorado 4, Philadelphia 2
The whole "MFY
-need-to-win-it-to-make-NYC-feel-
whole-again" made me want to vomit over and over again.
Especially since anyone directly affected by 9/11 wouldn't have given a shit about a baseball game.
A good evening from London. I'm on an e15 UK time!ven shorter leash than usual tonight. Have to be at Heathrow airport first thing in the morning to meet and greet. Means I'm up at 5:15 UK time.
that made sense!
pre-post-season nerves.
Wow. Garret Anderson will be facing Josh Beckett... and Anderson has pink eye!
Hi Lord L, nice to see you. Good luck with the sleep thing.
My god, in case you missed this little tid bit. Remy won. Of course the good news is we won't have to listen to any more drivel about the election. The bad news is all of next season we will have to put up with his presidental duties being put on display during the games.
Need Josh to come out with fire in his eyes tonight. I do not want to see a repeat of his last start.
My god, in case you missed this little tid bit. Remy won.
Aw geez. We'll never hear the end of it.
s1c, i still haven't missed it.
My god, in case you missed this little tid bit. Remy won. Of course the good news is we won't have to listen to any more drivel about the election. The bad news is all of next season we will have to put up with his presidental duties being put on display during the games.
Heh, came here to post the same thing. Of course he won, he led a very involved campaign at our expense.
Good news is that the show I'm going to starts at 8 instead of 6, so I'll get a couple innings in...
Definately pumped! LETS GO RED SOX!
Of course he won, he led a very involved campaign at our expense.
I was just thinking that. Tim, maybe you can get to the show late and see the whole game?!
Alright! I want a good, clean fight. Let's get it on!
Was wondering why Remdawg was throwing out the first pitch, now I know.
Pink Eye? Is this an episode of South Park?
I am enjoying Frank Thomas's analysis.
That was so cool. I heard what sounded like a really loud jet engine outside my window. A few minutes later, TC's world is rocked on the pre-game by a flyover. Five seconds after that I hear the noise again. I'll never get tired of that.
Re the Remy thing - was that really the point of the whole presidency thing?
Jere, you like the flyover? I'm surprised, being a military display and all.
I hate that shit. No idea what it has to do with baseball.
GO SOXXXXXXXX!!! ;D!!
Hey, diet coke in da house, alright!
Re the Remy thing - was that really the point of the whole presidency thing?
Sure seems like it now. Although tons of Sox fans might have voted for him.
L-girl, I meant I'll never get tired of the concept of hearing something outside your window as it's on TV at the same time because you live close to the ballpark.
I hate all military bullcrap.
Current weather in Boston:
Mostly Cloudy
62°F / 17°C
Could be in for a fun time. My digital satellite is effing me about.
Is Andrew of 12Eight going by Andy now or what?
I was just thinking that. Tim, maybe you can get to the show late and see the whole game?!
I'm definitely going to stretch it out...I wanna see the second-last band (theres 4)...don't care about the first two so...doors at 7:30...probably will start at 8. Play from 8-8:35, Break till 8:50, play till 9:30, break till 10...it just may work...
Jere, thank you, that makes great sense. May you never tire of such a wonderful thing.
Mmmmm bullcrap.
Willits in CF for Angels...hopefully he continues the tradition of looking like a lost dog in Fenway's CF...
The story does not end here," said Dr. Charles Steinberg, the Red Sox's executive vice president/public affairs. "We want to continue the dialogue with our fans, whether it is with the top five, the top 25 or the 1,200 who ran for office. We want to give a voice to all Red Sox fans across the country and around the world. Such sustained communication helps us remain accessible and accountable to our fans."
Good god, can they milk this RSN crap any more?
Let the games begin!!!
HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess I was wrong about the president thing. I was sure it was for a "fan" to win, and that celebs being involved was so people would pay attention. Turns out, it was a way for fans to think they had a chance, whereas it was gonna be Remy all along.
Yook's gotta be a shoe in for gold glove.
L: Doesn't just apply to ballgames, either, just the general concept. "Hey, that thing on TV is right outside, too!"
I am going to murder my satellite TV provider....
tight zone so far.
Here we go!! LET'S GO JOSH! (Our man sans nickname.)
Do not walk the first guy of game one.
I'd sure feel miffed as a fan to see someone who is so close to the organisation win it.
Anyway, more serious stuff.
Yook's gotta be a shoe in for gold glove
You would think, but will not happen. Most likely Pena or Morneau will win it.
Ok, I missed it, who are the announcers?
L: Doesn't just apply to ballgames, either, just the general concept. "Hey, that thing on TV is right outside, too!"
And we were just talking about 9/11. That's what that makes me think of.
OK, that's it for 9/11 tonight, back to baseball now.
s1c: steve stone and ted robinson.
i know stone from some fox or espn games. (fox, i think.) no idea who robinson is. anyone?
Stone - Man he doesn't sound anything like he did when he was on WGN doing the Cubs games. Of course that was a few years ago when I would watch those games.
OK Josh, go for the K...
robinson's marty-feldman-eyes scared me during the pre-game.
My beloved has taken off - so off soon. Come on Josh, lets have the eyedeal pitch for Garrett,
Nice!
Nice job, Josh. Now let's take a huge lead.
eyedeal pitch :)
bat the blind guy 4th!
mrs. garret down by way of the K
eye do meye best.
Well done, Josh!
They hit-and-run successfully twice -- but no run came in. Very nice.
You would think, but will not happen. Most likely Pena or Morneau will win it.
I call bullshit to that...Pena had a lot of HRs so that's somehow relevant to a gold glove. Fucking people suck ass. Record for error-less games, come on!
Ted Robinson did Mets games for a while.
down by way of the K
I can't drink for another hour and twelve minutes.
ZS, you have a drinking hour?
Come on Fuck Yeah!
making 0 errors should help yook.
let's go pedROYa
Tim I agree with you, but you have to remember who votes for the thing. Wasn't too long ago that you saw a person who only played 27 games at first win the gold glove, why, because of his bat.
RE: see Jeter vs Gonzo last year.
Youk!!!!
DONG!
gonna be a long night lackey.
I'll take that Youk.....

Yeah yeah yeah!!!

Ted Robinson did Mets games for a while.
That is where I've heard that voice.
Ish- did Uncle Joe go crazy on Youks blast?
LOL, I momentarily forgot where you are. (Alzheimer's again.) That's a good practice, not drinking at work. It helps pay the mortgage or the rent.
This is your time Teaser...
Love it when Papi goes left side!!!
shift this.
FLO!
Lookin' good guys!
btw - Anyone else getting a bunch of phone calls from people asking what channel the game is on?
L calling a manny dong.
That guy saved a double. I'll gladly take it, though.
This is all set up for DJ Werd, you know it, i know it.
What he'll do......
butcher's a bad name for a coach
Actually MBM has a worse average vs Lackey than ON FIRE!!!
MBM-.435
OF -.455
Time for a house call!!
Wow, Lackey's definately butchering this one...heh heh heh ;-)
delayed YOOOOOK!
Oh this is fun!
"Anyone else getting a bunch of phone calls from people asking what channel the game is on?"
I don't have a phone.
But I'm glad I've watched so much Seinfeld on TBS, so I knew right where to go.
lets go fireboy.
I blame the behind-the-plate angle for that pop up.
Or....Tek with the bases loaded.....
Gives us hope? We got plenty of hope, mr announcer.
I blame the behind-the-plate angle for that pop up.
Ditto. But those are the best seats for actually attending a game, funny how that works.
Ah, yes, Laura, West Coast. Ideal in many ways for baseball but at the moment I'd rather be out of here.
C'mon, JD, make him pay.
Damn Macer, nice play...
it saved the agony of tek with the bases loaded...thank heaven for small mercies.
Crap- coulda and shoulda been more runs there.
Still will take the 1-0 lead!!!
Patented Drew: Stand there for a long time, then do something weak.
West Coast. Ideal in many ways for baseball but at the moment I'd rather be out of here.
It always seems ideal to me. My Yankee-fan friend who moved out there loves it for baseball - esp since he's an actor and often home for those late-afternoon starts.
Ish- did Uncle Joe go crazy on Youks blast?
Pretty much. Not as crazy as I've heard him, but he called it like it was - a postseason home run.
I'm very surprised... there's NO delay between the radio and tv!
add to my last comment: On a hitter's count.
I wish we could call a moratorium on Drew-complaining. I'd even trade my Timlin-complaining for it.
Ted Robinson did the US Open this year. Tennis.
no delay - nice!!
You should call a moratorium on Drew-plaining, it would save me a lot of time and energy.
Pee Wee and the Dr. also made outs that inning. They suck.
People may also know Robinson's voice from doing a national game, like CBS radio of something.
Ish, I've been wondering, since you're such a pure baseball fan, what other sports (if any) do you follow very closely? What do you do all winter?
Jere, cool. I don't know if I'm authorized to call a moratorium here, but if I am, I'm calling it!
I thought the fact that he was ON FIRE!!! would stem the tide of bitching.
J.D. Will come up big!!! bet the house on it!
Aiight, wtg josh. Les do it bottom of the order!
What a cheater. Hey, great job by TBS to take their logo off the screen just before a key part of the replay was about to be obscured by it. Nice.
Of course he will, he's ON FIRE!!!!
As we all know.
I like my new scoring pen!
right. one more innings.
hooray for allan's new scoring pen.
Ish, I've been wondering, since you're such a pure baseball fan, what other sports (if any) do you follow very closely? What do you do all winter?
There aren't any other sports I follow closely. Doesn't mean I won't watch any. I'm a fair-weather Bruins and Patriots fan. Well, I'll watch the Bruins if they're doing okay, but last year, they sucked.
I usually spend the winter watching a large amount of other television shows, like Nip/Tuck, House, some sitcoms, etc.
Winter is hard.
I like my new scoring pen!
Yeah!!
C'mon TEK!!
Tek's hit for the DS?!
g'job, Tek.
just dropping in to say
WE ARE GOING TO WIN
I can't wait until I'm back in CT where NESN flows like wine, but at least I'm having quality time with the gf in Rochester (YES suck-ups).
Oh great. Her flight is due 20 minutes early.
Come on ocoC. Make me sleep easy.
Ish, cool, thanks.
I have two seasons. Baseball Season and Movie Season. I watch movies (at home on DVD) fanatically all winter.
