It's interesting. They do have a page for the Angels being AL Champs, too, but only the Yanks' one has the big "congratulations" banner!

(The Dodgers' NL champs page is quite sad...)

This stuff gets manufactured every year so that it can be sold right away after a win. I see the merch for the losing teams in big lot stores a lot. Pretty clever to sell it before the fact, though.

Yeah, I know how it works. That's why I have Red Sox World Champs pennants from 1975 and 1986, and a 1999 Red Sox World Champs sweatshirt.

Plus for a few years, I collected "phantom tickets" -- the sheets of post-season tickets teams send to season ticket holders as the playoffs loom.

But manufacturing shirts or caps and putting up a live webpage are two very different things.

I see the merch for the losing teams in big lot stores a lot.

I'd love a 2004 Yankees World Champs shirt.
