Wakefield makes his 18th start (and 29th appearance) of the season. If he pitches at least 3.1 innings tonight, he'll reach 130 innings for the season, increasing his base salary for 2011 from $1.5 million to $2 million.

1977 - Carlton Fisk and George Scott hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning in Toronto. It is the 16th time this season that Red Sox hitters have hit back-to-back homers, breaking the record set by the 1964 Twins. Fisk hits two dongs and drives in five runs as Boston wins 7-2.
