Yairo Muñoz went 3-for-4 (after going 3-for-3 in the first game) and scored the Red Sox's third run on Toronto catcher Reese McGuire's errant attempted pickoff throw in the fifth inning. In four games, Muñoz is 8-for-15 (.533) with a 1.466 OPS.
Armed with a 3-1 lead, Josh Taylor relieved Chris Mazza (4-3-1-1-2, 67) and pitched a clean fifth. Robinson Leyer did not pitch a clean sixth. He allowed a one-out double and a walk. After Leyer got the second out, Jonathan Villar singled to center, cutting the lead to 3-2. Another walk loaded the bases before Leyer fanned Derek Fisher.
Matt Barnes allowed a leadoff single in the seventh, bringing up Vladimir Guerreo Jr., who had the unique opportunity to hit a game-winning, walkoff home run for the visiting "home" team at Fenway Park. Which reminds me, you know I detest Rob Manfred, right? Vlad swung and missed a fastball before hitting into a 5-4-3 double play. Then Barnes struck out Cavan Biggio to earn a victory in the second of the day's 7/9th of a game.
