mlbtv/nesn showing lowell press conf. nice stuff.

That was a nice press conference. It was technically during the game broadcast, which was nice, so the MLB.TVers could watch.

Good looking lineup - not good for winning, but I think it's the right thing to do tonight. Too bad for people who shelled out hundreds of money to go to this game, though.

There's a woman I know who flew up here from Orlando to go to this game.

The beer guys in the stands is overheard saying, "Ice cold beer light! ...Does anyone like cold beer!?" (Does he say "beer light" or "Bud Light"? Beer light makes little sense.)

dice is helping out so far.

allan said...

farrell: "so, dice, remember how you're always sayin you wanna throw like 180 or 200 pitches?"

Heard most of this on the radio on our drive back from NY, but going to sleep now. Can our junior players come back and beat the NYY? Who knows? I will find out in the morning.

Good night, all!

Just got home and it's Michael Kay again. Too tired to set up audio on the netbook. Mute it is.

I put up 9:30 to have something in there.

Navarro's best Jeter impression, but Jeter's was better, which is good news for Navarro's face.

Minor leaguers hitting big league pitching and big leaguers not hitting minor league pitching...

Don: "...and the two almost collide." Uh, they did collide, softly.

tim said...

Rally time!!!!

allan said...

okay, time for the walks, nova.

Rob said...

Remy thought it was a good time to hit & run. Uh, not a good idea to send Drew in a meaningless game with a wild pitcher.

1 am and I'm watching the 9th of a home game. WTF!!!!!!

Rob said...

If I was at this game I'd be hoofing it back to Cambridge to get the car, just like after JoS1.

Amazing that these hitters don't seem all that unusual.

i wonder how late a game at fenway has started. this one was 9:22.

Rob said...

I would be very surprised if this was the latest-starting game. I seem to remember a game or two starting later.

tim said...

August 17, 1993, start of game was delayed 3:03, looks like it started at 10:37.

Rob said...

Let's be honest, if you're a fan and you're going to run out on the field, you HAVE to be naked in order for it to be worth it.

allan said...

win this shit, now.

allan said...

Not much water left, but it is Muddy!!!

Rob said...

DONE AND DONE.

tim said...

dirty fucking water.

good stuff.

allan said...

patterson ends both games.

Rob said...

So the Yankees and Rays are all tied up again at 95-66. Tomorrow is indeed a meaningful game for New York.

Rob said...

TC: "More than 14 hours of baseball at Fenway Park today..." Was there another game I didn't know about?

Rob said...

Fittingly, Jason Varitek will catch tomorrow, according to Tito during his post-game presser.
