Red Sox Set ALDS Rotation, Will Take 11 Pitchers

The Red Sox announced their pitching rotation for the American League Division Series:
Game 1 - Friday: Jon Lester
Game 2 - Saturday: John Lackey
Game 3 - Monday: Clay Buchholz
Game 4 - Tuesday (if necessary): Jake Peavy
Game 5 - Thursday (if necessary): Jon Lester
Boston will face the winner of tonight's Wild Card game, either Tampa Bay or Cleveland.

Because of the positional versatility of several players (Daniel Nava, Mike Carp, Will Middlebrooks, Xander Bogaerts and Shane Victorino), John Farrell will likely go with 11 pitchers in the ALDS.

The seven-man bullpen would include Koji Uehara, Junichi Tazawa, Brandon Workman, Ryan Dempster, and Craig Breslow, and two of Franklin Morales, Felix Doubront, and Matt Thornton. (Doubront pitched in today's intrasquad game, but Thornton did not.)

One lesson from 2013: Do not doubt David Ortiz. ... Mike Napoli, on the plantar fasciitis in his left foot: "It feels like I'm stepping on an ice pick."

Looking at the Indians lineup and pitching staff. Tito has to win manager of the year.
