L-girl guest post!

On Tuesday, July 28, an historic event will take place at Fenway Park: JoS1. Joy of Sox gamethreaders will meet in person - most of us for the first time - and attend that night's game against the A's together.

Allan and I are really excited about this. It will be our first trip to Fenway since moving to Canada in 2005. (Highlights from our last visit here and here.) And we're really looking forward to meeting more people from the Joy of Sox community!

We purchased a block of 20 tickets in the new pavilion in left field (a view). We've had one cancellation, and one former threader seems to be MIA, leaving five tickets up for grabs. Tickets are $75 each. If you're a member of Joy Nation and you'd like to join us, don't be shy! Email me at movetocanada-at-gmail for details.

This post is also an historic occasion for another reason: it's the first-ever non-redsock post at Joy of Sox. But since I'm organizing JoS1, it seems only fair.

So the gamethreaders who were setting their alarms for this historic announcement... I guess you were all too shocked to respond, eh?

Heh, I forgot to check. Now that I have, it's hardly news to me! But I hope we can find takers for the other tickets. If we have to look outside the JOS community, let me know. Perhaps I can find some others who want a seat.

Thanks, Amy. I think the tix are sold already. If we don't sell all 5 this way, Allan will post it on SoSH and they'll go in a snap.

Whoo hoo! Me and my son are going to the game! Can't wait to meet the other JoS folks!

Update: As of 11:30, one ticket is still available. That is, assuming a certain slacker pays up. [cough]Joe[/cough]

Oh, man, I wish I could go! Sadly, twin babies prevent my attendance.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I am too far away. :(
And on that day, I'm supposed to be climbing a mountain in the Bob Marshall Wilderness ... near where Dave Letterman lives.

Wish I could go too, but my Trivia Night hosting here in NYC prevents me from coming up. Have a great time, guys!

Sure. Follow the instructions in the post.

There's a non-zero chance that I'll be at this game with tickets of my own. If that's the case, I'd love to meet some of you guys before/after the game.

One day we'll have to have a west coast JoS game - Andy, Zenslinger, Westcoastsox, etc.

Hm, I wonder where the Sox are when we'll be in the Bay Area for a nephew's wedding in 2010...
