Dustin Pedroia had three of Boston's six hits; he scored in the ninth inning, doubling and then crossing on Mauro Gomez's sac fly. Cody Ross drove in Pedro Ciriaco in the sixth.
The Red Sox are now 0-6 on their nine-game road trip. The starters have allowed first-inning runs in five of the six games, and have a 11.52 ERA.
Oakland swept the three-game series by a combined score of 33-5.
