Buchholz (8.2-7-4-3-4, 121) allowed a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to the ageless Omar Vizquel that gave Toronto its winning margin. Buchholz faced 35 batters, which tied Jon Lester (35 Angels, 121 pitches, August 30) for the team high in 2012.
Jacoby Ellsbury hit a two-run homer in the second, and Dustin Pedroia went deep in the sixth. Cody Ross had two hits and a walk.
