Mantei On DL - High Grade Ankle Sprain

SoSHer says WEEI reports:

Mantei has been DL'd with a high grade sprain in the ligament in his ankle – this is more than a 15-day DL stint. Guys on the radio said that they had taken an MRI a month ago that revealed the injury, but Mantei and company wanted to pitch through it –- bad idea.

6:00 Update: Rotoworld reports the same thing and says Abe Alvarez has been called up from Pawtucket. No word on MLB.com or the Globe's site yet.
