Lowrie's Wrist

Rob Bradford, WEEI:
Jed Lowrie, who has been sent back to Boston in order to undergo tests on his left wrist (the same one that suffered a non-displaced fracture last season), will be placed on the 15-day disabled list. The shortstop informed team officials about discomfort in the wrist on Sunday, but expressed that he had been dealing with the issue for a couple of weeks.
Bad decision to keep that a secret, Jed.

Lowrie hit a robust .343/.400/.657 in spring training, but only .056/.150/.056 since the season began.

He went 3-for-4 on March 16, 2-for-3 on March 17, and 3-for-4 on March 19 -- then went 5-for-his-last-27 (.185).

Maybe something happened to his wrist around that time.

I never thought the day would come when I looked forward to the return of Julio Lugo.

Let's hope with his off-season workout program Julio produces at the plate, we defintely need a jump in our bats and maybe (the return-of sorts) Lugo will provide that.
