Damn you, Frank Thomas.

Didn't really watch this one, as I was heading back to Waterloo...looks like it was a quick'ern. I'm gonna head down probably Wednesday, but maybe tomorrow...depends on who else is available.

Sock n L, where are your guys' seats? I'll def. pop by and say hello if I head down!

Ouch...that was embarassing.

Damn MFY look like they'll take another game...making it 3.5 now.

Come on Sox...get the next two and hope the MFY lose the next two.

But Detroit lost, so our magic number for reaching the playoffs is now 5. I think. Not that I'm rooting for Detroit to lose. Just sayin'.

Firefox summed up what redsock was saying about WMTC:

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

I'd never seen that message before. That is profound. Only Laura could pull this off:)

Thank you, Blogger. :/

I said I wouldn't be upset or worried unless we had less than a 4 game lead.

So last night Messers McGowan and Thomas put me officially over my threshold.

Or is it under my threshold?

Whichever. It's annoying.

The box score is scary. I haven't heard the "I" word (injuries) yet, but where are the regulars? Where are the hits? Where is a catcher without so many Ks?

L-girl, were you guys holding a sign with Mt Rushmore last night? A poster named Andy thought it might be you two. No one else caught it though. Where are your seats? And what do you guys look like? I keep thinking Joni Mitchell because of your avatar! (BTW, I read that she has a new album out.)

No, no signs. We're sitting on the 1B line, about 20 rows back.

Sad to say, I don't look like Joni Mitchell, although I'd rather write like her than look like her! She does have a new album out.

Completely off-topic, but I guess this is kind of a game thread (?), the new Springsteen album is GREAT!! I can't stop listening to it.

I heard a song from it on the radio yesterday. Fantastic.

There was another blog that went kaput mysteriously about a week ago. Three days later it came back up, but the latest entry was from July 15th. :\

"Modern Times"? Who the hell said that?

If you liked "Love & Theft", you'll probably like MT. I am lukewarm, at best, to both of them.

who the hell seaid that?

i read somewhere that it had a lot of danger in it. like the old dylan. the track i heard for that dumb ipod commercial wasnt bad.
im personally a 1966 bootleg man myself.
speed and acid...nothing like it.

"Danger" would not be a word I would use. (Stupid music critics :>) !)

The quicker numbers amble along nicely, I suppose, but the slower tunes are too sappy and boring for me. It's not his fault, but I can't deal with his voice anymore.

NOW we're talking. I am also a huge fan of the Rolling Thunder Tours of 75 and 76 and have been really getting into (after ignorantly ignoring it for 25 years) his two gospel records and tours.

Do you know the Expecting Rain message board? They have a huge collection of links to "rare" Dylan recordings. They are in mp3, so no good for trading, but very good for personal use. Email me for more info if you like.

I wouldn't say that, but your ears might be in danger from the current sound of Dylan's voice. I've always loved his singing, but in recent years his ruined voice can be tough to take.

I don't think we'll see the likes of Blonde On Blonde from Bob again. Although who knows.

very good choice!

definitely will check out the expecting rain message board. thanks for the herads up.
dylan is one of those things in life where you might not get it at first, but once you do, it changes yr perception/life.
