Hey, why would the tabs make fun of the Yanks? In the Yanks' minds, they've "clinched," acting as if the wild card is the best and classiest thing you can do. During their game we watched on the scoreboard last night, Michael Kay talked about the day the Yankees "clinched" twice, not even specifying what it meant. Then when I got home from the two hour "Red Sox win division over Yanks for first time in long time" celebration, the first e-mail awaiting me was from the Yanks: "Yankees clinch Wild Card! Get your gear here!" They can do know wrong. That's what makes them the best. Ever. Always.
(So, have they now clinched the AL East, West, and Wild Card? Central for the cycle! Joba, baby!)
"Laura can tell you all about the hatred and disgust in Kay's voice when he talked about the Red Sox celebrating the wild card in either 2003 or 2004."
Michael Kay -- the man who, when criticized by a fan on his radio show for jinxing a possible Wang no-hitter, started ranting about slaves and Nazis "putting people into ovens".

Kay. Michael Kay.
You know, I never shared your guys' hatred for this man, but this. This is beyond the pale.

He was seething with hatred and disgust. He kept repeating, "The wild card. This is what they do to clelebrate the wild card." And threw in a few things like, "Imagine what they would do if they ever actually won a World Series?"
I never really disliked Kay, but this year he has just put my teeth in a continual grind mode. Of course what really gets me is how they celebrate like idiots yet I see the Sox cast offs of M-alphabet and Damon playing big roles on that team now. I want them to go down by the hands of the Indians so bad.

All you need to know: we've had sole possession of first place since April 18. That's the last 91% of the season.

This is different, I suppose.

I remember it well myself.

Michael Kay = Idiot.
Plus his chin is almost as big as Leno's.
