Youkilis Has Bursitis In Left Hip; Buchholz Progressing

An MRI on Kevin Youkilis's left hip on Friday showed bursitis in his left hip. Terry Francona:
I don't know if we'll play him or not [in the weekend games in Tampa Bay]. He might be able to pinch hit. He might be able to play. We don't quite know. Any time you get an injection, we'll see how he wakes up and feels. ... [H]e'll either come down tomorrow, if he feels good. If not, he'll stay and meet us when we get back [to Fenway on Monday (an off-day)].
John Lackey suffered a bruise on his left calf when he was hit by John Jaso's line drive. ... Before Friday's game, Josh Beckett (sprained right ankle) was riding an exercise bike and Clay Buchholz (stress fracture in his back) made 70 throws from 120 feet.

Francona, on Buchholz:
It's encouraging when he starts getting out that far and he still feels better and better. ... [Throwing off a mound] will be the biggest test, because that's where it hurt before. Tomorrow, we'll back off a little bit and then we'll start putting a program together for the next couple of weeks. ... If he feels well, him pitching in our season hasn't been ruled out.
