More Drama With A-Rod

Oakland pitcher Dallas Braden was highly annoyed when, after Robinson Cano fouled a pitch off in the sixth inning yesterday, Alex Rodriguez cut across the diamond and stomped on the pitching mound (or maybe dragged his foot across Braden's foot's landing spot, though this clip doesn't show that) as he returned to first base.

"I don't care if I'm Cy Young or the 25th man on a roster; if I've got the ball in my hand and I'm out there on that mound, that's not your mound. You want to run across the mound? Go run laps in the bullpen. ... He should maybe watch his captain a little more often. ... I don't go over there and run laps at third base. I don't spit over there. I stay away. ... The guy was tasting himself too long to apologize. ... I was trying to convey to him that I'm still out there, the ball is in my hand, and it's my pitcher's mound."

Braden also alluded to the infamous slap play during Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS: "What was he doing? Was he trying to break up a double play at first?

What does that mean?

I also would like to retract my statement about LBJ , "the suck it up kid" comment..

My ignorance once again got the best of me...

Too self-centered? In love with himself?

LBJ says thank you.

I was thinking it had to be broken ribs. When he said he had a very sharp pain from every breath, after a collision, that's broken ribs. It hurts like hell and you there's nothing you can do but it tape it and rest. Sucks.

No clue why it took 12 days and his daily complaints about pain while breathing to get a CT.

One report said Ellsbury had to insist/demand a CT before the team sent him off for one. WTF???

This whole situation pisses me off. I really believe that A-Rod's being disingenuous here. Yes, it's a dumb unwritten rule, but still.

BUT STILL.

Uh, Redsock, whose the guy in your new pic? Shot in the dark but that can't be Martin Luther King Jr. is it? Just wondering...

I assume Seawolves Fanatic is referring to the Remy picture in the sidebar...

Oh yeah! Remy is so-called "President of Red Sox Nation". The "Not My President" thing comes from a rather unpopular Resident of the White House that many of us believe was not actually elected.

The quote from Braden about Cy Young/25th man makes more sense with this quote from Slappy:

"He just told me to get off his mound....That was a little surprising. I've never quite heard that - especially from a guy that has a handful of wins in his career."

What a putz. Either it's something he's heard of or not, but whether you walk on the mound has nothing to do with how many wins the guy has.

L you have to be more specific because nowadays there is a large faction that will call out every president for not being elected properly. i.e. Obama and his citizenship.

I see a difference. The citizenship claim is bullshit, while there are mountains of evidence for 2000 and 2004. (P.S. And I also believe Obama might as well be called W's third term.)

Doesn't "NMP" go back quite aways?

Soooooooooooo...what're ya sayin', then? That you don't like Remy? Is that even POSSIBLE?

Also...A-Rod. What a tool. It's about respect, Alex. It doesn't matter how many wins the guy has...show a little respect.

Of course it's possible.

I like him sometimes and at other times, he annoys the piss out of me.

Not that I'm aware of, but that doesn't mean it doesn't.

L you have to be more specific

"Birthers" are either outright lying or extremely gullible and misinformed.

On the other hand, there is incontrovertible proof that the Resident was never actually elected - not in 2000 and not in 2004.

I hope that is specific enough.

Definitely possible, but is that what you're saying with the badge? I thought it was more that he is not the "president" of anything, he is an announcer - not the number one Red Sox fan. (At times it seems he barely follows baseball. Can't be bothered.)

And in case you are new around here, I didn't vote for and don't like any of these people. I'm just stating facts.
