J.C. Romero as well -- I'm remembering him as a good pitcher, but evidently he's gone downhill some and has never had great control.
SoSH is having a conversation on the bullpen and who could be in it. Looks like a lot of mediocore guys competing for a few spaces and no closer yet, but -- at least we'll have options. It can't be worse than last year.
Who are you guys suggesting he gets for the closer job...and at this point it would have to be a trade , so Pena or Crisp would most likely be on the block.
Sox docs say the strain of bullpen work (multiple days per week (some consecutive) of warming up and pitching) will ruin his shoulder and he needs the steady routine of starting.
I don't buy that about Papelbon. So if he fails as a starter, he's just forced to retire? Because he, unlike everyone else, just can't possibly pitch more than exactly once every five days? Is there nothing he can do to pitch more than that? With all these doctors and trainers know? We've got possibly the best closer in the league. I think we should keep him right where he is.
Newsflash! I've just been informed that while I was wracking my poor, tired brain to create anagrams on my own, Redsock was just plugging players' names into one of the many online anagram generators.
Here I was all impressed by his ability to turn Dustin Pedroia into this --

-- when he really was just typing.
No wonder my anagrams suck! I was thinking them up on my own.
OK, who else was cheating? Jack Marshall will be taking your names.

Seibel's nearing 28 and has been plagued by injuries. I like this no-risk move.
Seibel wasn't One Of The 25, but he did get a ring!

Can it?
Yo Theo! You're a brainiac. I've got a Word Jumble for you - "ESLORC". Now solve it.

Is he missing someone you guys like...
They also might force Papelpon back into the postion ....I think he would do it..
If they sign Clemens , which isn't far-fetched, is it? Pap might be left out..
Jesus he did have .92 era last year

Theo et al. have said this repeatedly.
One other thing I will be suprised if Delcarmen makes the opening day roster.

I thought I was bored
Just taking a short break from work .... now back to it.
Thats cool....did you see my post about the new radio crew...Dave O'brien is pretty good.....
Since I hate Joe and Jerry, this has to be an improvement.
But isn't O'Brien the fool who still goes on and on (and on) about Manny's HR showboating against Oakland in the 2003 playoffs?

Geez, get busy at work and everyone starts playing with anagrams. What's next, palindromes? I gotta get a piece of this.
Dave O'Brien??? I just realized who that is!!! God, I loathe that guy. Well, thank goodness we don't listen to the Sox on the radio...
By the way, this

This is like when I did anagrams for Sox blogs. (Joy of Sox is a hard one.)

I am absolutley offended by the use of these anagram generators! Use Scrabble tiles!

Yay Jere. :)
Scrabble tiles would make my life easier. I've been writing down the name and crossing out the letters. Not too efficient.
woo! advance team!
eat wood, caveman
These are so great. And relevant! Maybe I'll start an anagram thread at wmtc.
