Drew Getting Second Opinion On Shoulder

Nick Cafardo, Globe:
J.D. Drew was scheduled to receive a second opinion Monday on a shoulder issue the Red Sox have concerns about, according to a major league source familiar with Drew's condition.
No comments from either the Sox or Drew.

This is a good thing. And did ANYONE expect a possible incriminating comment from JDD? Trot looks better with EVERY passing minute. My opinion, but that's what I wrote about too on this oh so warm Monday. Happy holidays from me to you!

Those who still remain in favor of the JD Drew deal might find the attached good reading as they go whistling past the graveyard...

Coupled with Cafardo's report, the Bill Simmons column makes me think that the best thing that could happen here is a diagnosis that allows BOS to either tear up the contract or rewrite it on a heavily incentive-laden basis.

Simmons's column was hilarious for many reasons beyond the Drew material. But it's just that: a sports humor column. I wouldn't take it as evidence of anything but doubt in the minds of some.

How does one definte passionlessness? JD could still work out well, though I'm glad for the due diligence.
