Nice start to the interleague season. How far the NL has fallen!

What's our magic number now?

Oh -- CHB's son struck out.

Never has getting a hit off Lopez been such an achievement. I wonder how drunk that kid will get tonight when he gets back to the dorm.

That's our Red Sox Patented Plate Discipline at work. Grinding out runs and pitchers. Making young children cry.

Magic number is 84 (HAHAH, TAKE THAT YANKEES!)

1-0 us after one. Cora almost hit a dong. Crisp scored on a ground out to first after doubling and scooting to third on a WP/PB. The leadoff hitter for NU was in Castiglione's class last year. I totally can't believe I'm listening to a Red Sox gae right now. This is so sweet. Masterson gives up a hit to a college kid, a rocket shot single to start the top of the second. I think he got a 1-2-3 first.

Alex to Jed to the Mayor on the 4-6-3.

Okay, Manny's goin' deep here.... John Rish already starting to annoy me with "first pitch to Ramirez..." ... "second pitch to Ramirez..."

He's like one of those DJs on college radio who tells you the track number on the cd of the song they're about to play. It's like, Keep that in your head, buddy. Anyway, Manny walked, and got pinch run for. Casey at the proverbial bat now. Oh, and Rish took a shot at Canada before. Apparently Northeastern has like 5 Canadians on the team. And Rish basically said that's not a good thing. Castig chimed in with, "well supposedly there are pockets of talent in Canada, you just have to find the pockets, heh heh...."

Casey BB and also pinch run for, and Dougie up. And he strikes out swinging. Chris Carter knocks in a run with a double. Rish: "an RBI double for Doug Mirabelli." First game jitters, I guess. Jed "first -owrie since Bobby Howry" Lowrie walks on four pitches. Ginter bloops one in for a single. 4-0 Sox in the third. Cora up again after a K. He's knocked in a run in each at bat so far. Pops up this time. Of course, they drop the ball. 5-0.
