Crazy Eights

In the Bronx this afternoon:
White Sox 080 210 020 - 13 17 0
Yankees 080 001 000 - 9 15 2
It is only the second time in baseball history that two teams have both scored at least eight runs in the same inning. (Starter Roger Clemens: 1.2 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 39 pitches)

The only other time happened three years ago -- on May 8, 2004:
Tigers 021 3 81 000 0 - 15 16 3
Rangers 040 0100 100 1 - 16 16 0
Alfonso Soriano went 6-for-6 in that game.

And with New York's loss, the Red Sox's lead in the East -- as the team heads to Seattle -- is now ... 8 games.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Is there a way we can give the MVP award to Farnsworth?

I think he'll earn it by the end of the season.
