Outfielder Bobby Kielty has signed a minor league deal and will join Pawtucket on Tuesday.
Kielty, 31, has spent most of this season on the DL. In 13 games (35 AB) for Oakland, he hit .200 and was released at the end of July. He told the Herald that he has an out in his contract if he's not called up to the parent club "in about a week".
Kielty chose the Red Sox over the Yankees, Diamondbacks, Cubs and Astros. "Boston was the best fit. I thought it would be all along. It was just a matter of hearing what everybody's options were."

Good news on Kielty. I was at the PawSox tonight, Buchholz had another good game, 1 run in 7 innings. The PawSox bullpen blew the game, 6-1
