The postseason has begun and the some of the most incompetent umpires in the sport – inexplicably rewarded with these plum assignments – are already fucking things up.

Umpire Doug Eddings missed 18 calls for a correct call rate of only 82.7%. There were only 2 games this season with a lower correct call rate.
The largest miss was a called strike to @ChristianBeth27 that missed outside by 3.95 inches. pic.twitter.com/TnjLqDhL7X
That was one of the worst called games I've ever seen. It wasn't even just poorly called, but the calls were super inconsistent so nobody knew what would be a strike or a ball each AB.

Congratulations to Jeremie Rehak and Marty Foster for being the best/worst umpire of the 2022 regular season!

Of note, none of the top 5 umpires were selected to be a part of the wild card umpire crews.
Rob Drake (rank 91 of 92) was selected to be a replay official. pic.twitter.com/rsS2OUPcjo
