Jon Shestakofsky notes that in the last 15 games, three Red Sox rookies have had outings of eight innings and one earned run allowed: Steven Wright (August 5), Eduardo Rodriguez (August 18), and Owens (August 21).
On the other side, the Red Sox battered Johnny Cueto for 13 hits in six innings (6-13-7-0-3, 96). It was the bottom of the order that did the most damage with the sticks, with Boston's 7-8-9 hitters going 8-for-12 and scoring six of the game's seven runs.
