Koji Uehara Has Fractured Wrist, Will Miss Rest Of Season
John Tomase,
WEEI:
Koji Uehara's season is over.
The Red Sox closer, who was hit with a line drive on the final out of Friday's 7-2 victory over the Tigers, suffered what the team termed a non-displaced distal radius fracture. He will be placed on the disabled list and he will not pitch again this season, but is expected to make a full recovery, the team announced on Monday.
Gordon Edes,
ESPN:
Uehara was struck in the wrist by a line drive off the bat of Detroit's Ian Kinsler, the last batter of the night in Boston's 7-2 win over the Tigers on Friday. Uehara retrieved the ball and threw out Kinsler to end the game but was in obvious pain.
