Red October

Three must-win games.

Three wins -- by a combined score of 30-5 -- and Cleveland never held a lead.
Boston 10, Cleveland 3
Cleveland 13, Boston 6 (11)
Cleveland 4, Boston 2
Cleveland 7, Boston 3
Boston 7, Cleveland 1
Boston 12, Cleveland 2
Boston 11, Cleveland 2
And Daisuke Matsuzaka became the first Japanese-born pitcher to win a post-season game in the major leagues.

And in Cleveland:

Got You Where I Want You

I suppose we have them just where we want them now, these Cleveland Indians. Lulled into a false sense of security, riding high on the shoulders of Grady Sizemore and Victor Martinez, waving their towels and blasting their "Tribe Time" theme song and guzzling cheap wine like they're on their way to the World Series.

We did this before, folks. To the Yankees in 2004. Gave them their false hope. Let them stoke their fires and crank their music and point at us and laugh as we were forced to the back of the bus. We sat and watched and observed and absorbed and kept quiet. And when the time was right ...

One game away from elimination? F@#k that noise. We prefer to think of you guys as three games away from elimination. And hanging on by a slender thread.

... Think J.D. Drew's been a loss this season? Screw that; he's been saving it up, stashing away the awesome until he's ready to pop the cap and let it loose. And he's officially ready.

Thomas Paine mojo.

"I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."

Not many people know this, but the rest of that quote is:

"Fuck yeah!"

Thomas Bringin' Cleveland The Paine.

Red Sox Win -- It's Common Sense.

Have been looking at the pics etc and it just strikes me that the veterans must be having a ball watching the kids (pap, F*** Yeah, and the rest), going absolutely nuts.

Just look at Tek's grin as he goes running out to Papelbon who is waving him on like, come to PaPa! What a hoot!!!
