The Dodgers are the first team ever to not start any of its top four regular-season home run hitters in a World Series game. They did it in Game 1 and again in Game 2.

Eduardo Nunez is the fifth player to hit a pinch-hit home run in his first World Series at-bat. Nunez had never before hit a pinch-HR in the majors (regular season or postseason).

In Game 1, Andrew Benintendi became the third player with four hits off left-handed pitchers in a World Series game. Like Benintendi, the others were left-handed batters: Willie Stargell and Dave Parker.

This is the first World Series between teams for which both managers played. In fact, Alex Cora and Dave Roberts were teammates on the Dodgers from 2002-04. Cora played for Boston in 2005-08, Roberts in 2004.

The Red Sox are 9-0 when scoring first this postseason. That nine-game win streak is tied for the second-longest single-season streak in postseason history. Only the 2004 Red Sox had a longer streak (10 games).

David Price is the fourth pitcher in Red Sox history to go at least six innings and allow three or fewer hits in consecutive postseason appearances, joining Derek Lowe (2004), Pedro Martínez (1999) and Jim Lonborg (1967).

Ryan Madson has inherited five runners in this World Series (two in Game 1, three in Game 2). All five have scored. Madson's World Series ERA is 0.00.

I must say the Green Monster is a gem. I am glad the camera showed the workers inside updating the scoreboard the old fashion way.
