Phillies President Admits Myers Mistake
Philadelphia Phillies president Dave Montgomery says it was a "mistake" to have Brett Myers pitch against the Red Sox a day after being arrested and charged with hitting his wife.

Good for him. Even though I was ok with Myers pitching (and being loudly boo'd), I'm glad the Phillies can say this.
Philadelphia Cream Sleaze (recipe for rationalization; serves 1-2):
Mix one PHI sliding out of contention with three large games against BOS. Remove front-of-the-rotation starter (or add to mix, seasoned to taste after taking care to remove small, tenderized spouse), bake at 475 degrees for 2 hours (or 100 pitches) until done.
PHI management screwed the pooch on their intial handling of this matter, as their eventual decision to send Myers home affirmed. The decision to let Myers have a go at beating the Sox (after first beating his wife) was shameful, then and now.
